Can CBD oil help with personality disorders?

Types Of Personality Disorders

Personality disorders are like a quilt made up of different patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. They can sometimes make it harder for someone to live their best life. But don’t worry, there are different types of personality disorders and ways to manage them. Here are a few examples:

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD): This is when emotions are like a rollercoaster, making it tough to have stable relationships.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD): People with NPD have a big sense of self-importance and find it hard to understand others.

Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD): This is when someone doesn’t care about others and might break the rules.

Avoidant Personality Disorder (AvPD): This is when criticism can be super tough and makes it hard to form close relationships.

Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD): This is when things have to be just so and can lead to rigid behaviour.

Schizoid Personality Disorder: People with this disorder aren’t very interested in relationships and can seem distant.

Schizotypal Personality Disorder: This is when someone has strange thoughts, behaviours, and perceptions that can make daily life tricky.

Remember, not everyone with a personality disorder has all these symptoms, and the symptoms can change. The most important thing is to seek help from a mental health professional who can diagnose and treat these conditions.

Can CBD Oil Help With Personality Disorders?

When it comes to using CBD oil for personality disorders, the research is still pretty limited. But don’t worry, there are still lots of ways to get help! Talking with a mental health expert is a great place to start. They can help you figure out the best plan for you and make sure you’re on the right track.

It’s important to remember that while some folks have said they feel better with CBD oil, personality disorders are complex and can take time to treat. But there’s hope! With the right support and care, you can live a fulfilling life.

So, if you’re thinking about trying CBD oil, be sure to have a chat with a mental health professional first. They can give you all the information you need and help you decide if it’s right for you.

International Study on CBD as a treatment for Psychosis

As of February 2023, it has been reported that a major international study has been launched to see if people with psychotic disorders or symptoms can benefit from CBD.

A multimillion-dollar award will support studies to see if CBD helps treat psychosis. The responsible professor refers to it as “one of the most promising new medicines” because preliminary research has shown promise.

Only a few diseases, including severe epilepsy, specific symptoms of multiple sclerosis, and chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, are covered by the NHS’s prescription for it.

Yet, there is also speculation that it might lessen insomnia and anxiety.

The Wellcome Trust has awarded a £16.5 million grant to the University of Oxford’s department of psychiatry, which will be used to launch a global study involving 1,000 participants.

Participants will include those who are at risk for psychosis, people who have previously experienced their first psychotic episode, people who have psychosis, and people with psychosis who have not responded to other treatments.

35 locations, mostly in Europe and North America, will participate, and a pharmaceutical company is providing CBD for free.

Finding the courage to seek help

First of all, know that you’re not alone and you’re taking a brave step by seeking help for your mental health. That’s amazing! Here are a few tips to help make the process a little easier and more comforting:

Reach out to someone you love: Talk to someone you trust, like a close friend or family member. They’ll be there to listen and support you and can help connect you with the resources you need.

Find a mental health expert: Whether it’s a therapist, counsellor, psychologist, or psychiatrist, these are the people who are specially trained to help with mental health. They’ll be there to listen and support you, and help you find the care and treatment you need.

Connect with others: Joining online support groups, forums, or even just chatting with others who understand what you’re going through can be super helpful. You’re not alone, and it’s great to have others to talk to.

Take care of yourself: Don’t forget to focus on self-care! Eating well, getting enough sleep, exercising, and doing things you love can all help boost your mood and mental well-being.

Give yourself grace: Healing takes time, and it’s okay to have ups and downs. Just remember to keep reaching out for help when you need it, and know that you’re not alone.

Remember, you’re taking a huge step by seeking help, and that’s something to be proud of. You’ve got this, and there are people and resources ready to support you.
